Why The Thinking Investor?

The Thinking Investor helps you identify great investment opportunities and improve your investing thinking.

The main focus is on identifying 5x-100x stocks, company analysis, quality business characteristics, investing philosophies, market psychology, and discussing useful mental models. I’ll draw knowledge and wisdom from the best investors I research. Additionally, I’ll add my own experience through 6+ years of success and failures.

Content is posted every Wednesday afternoon.

Every Sunday morning a discussion thread will be posted with some thought-provoking questions for you to chime in on!

The Thinking Investor is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

Topics discussed for paid subscribers include:

Deep dives into interesting companies I want to add to my watchlist, and companies I already own.

My circle of investable businesses is wide in terms of market caps. All I care about is getting as many companies with multi-bagger potential into my portfolio as possible. Some of them may only be 5-10 baggers, others 50 baggers and a select few have 100-bagger potential.

Personal portfolio updates.

Three quarterly updates, and my annual update at the end of each year. This might be different than what most people do as I won't be reporting quarterly results. Why? It's irrelevant to my investing goals. What is relevant is how I'm viewing specific holdings, my thoughts on my holdings management, capital allocation skills, reinvestment skills, changes in competitive advantages, and growth prospects.

On top of this, you’ll receive regular content on:

  • Mistakes the greats have made and the mistakes that I’ve made on my investing journey. Here is where you get to learn what not do to!

  • In-depth looks at market psychology and how you can take advantage of it (like Buffett and Munger have been doing for decades)

  • Highly informative and engaging weekly discussion threads on all things investing.

  • Breakdowns of great investors from history and the lessons we can learn from them.

  • Useful mental models applicable to investing

  • Actionable tips on investing frameworks

When you go premium with The Thinking Investor and integrate things you read you may experience the following benefits:

Mohnish discusses a newer component of his investing ideas. The idea of a spawner. He says a spawner is a company with "DNA, which reflects a deep conviction in the impo…

Topicus: Another Great Compounder In The Making
Introduction Topicus is the product of a spinoff of Total Specific Solutions (TSS) from Constellation Software in 2020. Topicus is something like Constellation Software in its early days when it was an unknown 6 billion-dollar company. The last time CSU was at 6 billion was in 2015. It’s now sitting at 35 billion. That’s a 32% growth rate, because I’m co…
